Het Kanaal

Britse bergers hebben gisteren een uniek Duits vliegtuig uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog van de bodem van het Kanaal gehaald. Het wrak is het enige bekende complete exemplaar van een Dornier Do 17. Dit exemplaar werd waarschijnlijk in augustus 1940 neergehaald tijdens de luchtgevechten. Het wrak voor de kust van Kent werd vijf jaar geleden al ontdekt op vijftien meter diepte en is in redelijke staat. Het toestel schoonmaken gaat waarschijnlijk twee jaar duren. Daarna wordt de Dornier tentoongesteld in het Royal Air Force Museum in Londen.
