Faillissement in Spaanse luchtvaart

Passengers of Spanish airlines Air Comet wait in Barajas airport in Madrid on December 23, 2009. Air Comet, which mainly operates flights between Madrid and Latin America, plans to announce a suspension of payments as it cannot pay it debts, Spanish media said. The decision came after a British judge ordered the carrier's 13 planes to cease operations from Monday over its debts of around 14 million euros (20 million dollars) owed to Germany's Nord Bank, Spanish media said, quoting union sources.
