In Kathmandu ligt het leven stil Kathmandu. Nepalese activisten kijken naar wolken traangas, afgevuurd door de politie tijdens een betoging tegen koning Gyanendra in Kathmandu. Het leven in de hoofdstad van Nepal is na elf dagen van aanhoudende protesten tegen de koning vrijwel geheel stil komen te liggen. Voedsel en brandstof zijn schaars. De oppositie heeft nieuwe protesten gepland. Nepal's capital has come to a standstill with food and fuel in short supply and prices rising as protests continued for the eleventh straight day against King Gyanendra's absolute rule. Other protests were planned or ongoing in the capital as police shied away from enforcing a ban on all gatherings and opposition parties said the demonstrations were growing.
