CES: Oqo 2+, volwaardige notebook in de binnenzak
Oqo model 2+
Je hebt laptops, minilaptops en laptops die je in je binnenzak stopt. Tot die laatste categorie behoort de übergadget van Oqo, dat deze week op de Consumer Electronics Show gepresenteerd wordt. Op Oqo’s Model 2+ draait een volledig Windows Vista besturingssysteem, aangestuurd door een 1,86 Ghz Intel Atom processor en geïntegreerde 3D-aansturing.
Dit is wat Intel voor ogen had toen het vorig jaar het Atom-platform presenteerde. Onder het 5 inch scherm zit een volledig qwerty-toetsenbord, dat je uit kunt schuiven. Het scherm zelf is gebaseerd op OLED-techniek en is aanraakgevoelig. De beeldkwaliteit is indrukwekkend, met 800×480 pixels resolutie tot maximaal 100×600 kun je er – mits uitgerust met een set goede ogen en flexibele duimen – prima op typen of browsen. Koppelen aan een externe monitor via HDMI, VGA of DVI is ook mogelijk. Ook een leuke optie: de gps en Oqo-houder voor in de auto.
De maximale gebruiksduur is 3,5 uur – 7 uur met een zwaardere batterij van 900 mAh. Het gewicht van het instapmodel is 500 gram. De harddiskcapaciteit is maximaal 120 GB en een 60 GB SSD is ook verkrijgbaar. Het werkgeheugen bedraagt maximaal 2 GB.
Volgens een Oqo-vertegenwoordigster komt Model 2+ ook in Europa in de winkels te liggen. De Amerikaanse prijzen zijn vastgesteld op 999 dollar voor het instapmodel en 1.499 dollar voor de meest luxe uitvoering.
