Ahmadinejad de ruimte in? ‘Was die aap daar niet vorige week al?’
De Iraanse president Ahmadinejad wil best als allereerste astronaut van Iran de ruimte in worden geschoten. Maar was hij daar niet vorige week al? Zo vroeg de Amerikaanse senator John McCain zich hardop af op Twitter, verwijzend naar de aap die Iran vorige week de ruimte in stuurde. Niet iedereen vindt McCain even grappig.

Ruimteaap
De Russen hadden het ruimtehondje Laika, dan wij een aap, moeten de Iraniërs hebben gedacht. Vorige week beweerde de Iraanse staatstelevisie dat het land erin geslaagd is een aap de ruimte in te schieten. Vandaag was het Ahmadinejad zelf die zei bereid te zijn om zijn leven voor de ruimtevaart te geven. Alles om het Iraanse ruimtevaartprogramma tot een succes te maken.
Iran is druk bezig om het eerste land uit het Midden-Oosten te worden dat bemande raketten de ruimte in kan sturen.
Volgens onze correspondent in Iran, Thomas Erdbrink, ziet de Iraanse bevolking Ahmadinejad maar al te graag afgeschoten worden naar de ruimte. Luister hier naar zijn commentaar.
