Inwoners Hawaii delen angst voor tsunami via Twitter
Inwoner van Hawaii kijkt naar geëvacueerde stad.

Volgens het Twitter-account van de Amerikaanse marine valt de schade vooralsnog mee. Bij Pearl Harbor was de golf een halve meter hoog. Maar er kunnen nog meer golven aankomen. “De eerste golf hoeft niet de grootste te zijn”, waarschuwt een twitteraar.
Dirk Jan Roeleven (journalist VPRO, nu in Hawaii): “Oceaanwater trekt ineens 50 meter terug, koraal komt bloot te liggen. Eng, want dan kan het ook weer terug knallen, lijkt me…”
